I love how Ms. Parker twists ending slavery (because it's evil) into a referendum on discriminating against gay Americans (who I guess are supposedly evil). You'd think she would have some kind of insight into what it feels like when the majority of society irrationally discriminates against a minority.
At one time, 72% of the public supported bans on interracial marriage. 30 states had bans in place. Sound familiar? The Supreme Court overruled the "will of the people" and nullified those discriminatory bans. Had they waited until society became more enlightened, it would have taken an additional 21 years for "race mixing" to become legalized. Our society cannot allow intolerance to override another person's liberty and freedoms.
