Awesome column Derek! Thanks for not being afraid to tell it like it is. I agree with you 100%. I had dues sucked out of my paychecks by the SEIU for over 25 years. No choice in the matter. Dues always went only one direction -- UP, even though our wages were frozen more often than not. We were lucky if we got a 1% cost of living raise once every two years. The shop stewards were ALL cut from the same cloth -- disgruntled employees with poor work ethics and a history of butting heads with those in authority over them. They couldn't wait to become union reps and use the union as a shield to "get back" at all those slave-driver supervisors who had the audacity to expect a day's work in exchange for a day's pay! The nerve of some people!
