Richard, Those IQ tests measure a very particular kind of intelligence, one that our schools have worked hard to groom, but they are not reflective of overall capacity for analytics, or anything else for that matter. The fact is, those in power in society, mainly white people, have prized one set of skills over others, and those are the skills that happen to be familiar to white people, and necessary to succeed in educated, white communities. When you create a test that evaluates the test-takers based on those skills, it's not surprising that those in disadvantaged minority communities don't have impressive results.
