Wow, it's a brilliant strategy. The GOP wins by appealing to a smaller share of the electorate thereby giving more power to the collectivist progressives. This is satire, right? Truth be told, the two political groups who most believe that the Federal Government doesn't play enough of a part in the life of the average American citizen are the liberals and the social conservatives. If you just focus on the perennial GOP promise of shrinking the power and scope of the federal government, then the progressives wouldn't have the tools to create mischief on a national scale. Every state could be an experiment in representative democracy. But that would be too simple, right?
