It was really the Teamsters Union. Their work rules virtually insured Hostess would fail. Do some more research. Hostess has/had 372 collective bargaining agreements and 80 different health and pension benefit plans. For example, did you know that a Wonder Bread truck (Teamster) can/could not also have Twinkies on board but had to have another truck (Teamsters)? And the list goes on and on and on. It used to be called Featherbedding and the Teamsters practised it as an art form at Hostess Brands. Good luck on former employees being rehired. Who in their right mind would even think union in that business?
