I disagree with Ann. Romney ran on proposing to run the country better than Obama, which appealed to many. Obama ran on portraying Romney as a personally EVIL rich white man concerned with nothing other than lining his pockets at the expense of poor, blacks, Latinos, youth, and women. The ballot count tells us more people were swayed by the campaign of personal destruction than on differences of policy or substance. Even Ann admits the anti Romney messaging was more personally targeted, but is reluctant to admit that this is lost precious votes. When fighting Chicago style politics either stand up and fight or stand aside to someone who will.
