Read the CDC report in detail, and the happy talk goes away. Download the report and look at the tabbed data. The rate of abortions dropped because the number of pregnancies decreased, or shall we say plunged. There were fewer abortions because there were fewer pregnancies. The GBR (General Birth Rate) in 2011 was 63 births/1000 females. The birthrate in 2011 was the lowest in our history. This was brought about because there were so few pregnancies. The tab data showed that pregnancies plunged amongst young Hispanic women (in 2011 they plunged 10%). Only caucasian women ages 38-44 saw the pregnancy rate increase (up 2%). The GBR for this group went up to 11 births/1000 females.Few people are simply not having children.
