The more time you spend in hotels, the more finicky you get. Which is just fine, given that they often charge hundreds of dollars per night.
As an example, a room I stayed in recently provided an iron and ironing board, but the only plug in was across the room behind the furniture. Such seemingly minor things make a difference.
If I ran a hotel, no one would check out without being asked (verbally), "How could we have made your stay better?" Failing to ask risks leaking customers, as annoyances are allowed to persist.
