Attempts to confiscate guns will become very ugly. The guns in the hands of criminals would be the most difficult to find and most or them would be left in circulation. The guns purchased legally are all but registered at the time of purchase. Any law banning the possession would classify gun owners as criminals, or worse yet as terrorists.
Without an organized group to resist most of the “give’m the bullets first” thinking would fade away. Attempts to organize an armed resistance would only eliminate the need due process under the “Patriot Act” and the organizers would be on a bread on water while getting Sun light piped to them.
