If the federal government stopped interfering in matters that are non of its darn business and got out of the drug-banning business altogether it would reap a huge peace dividend from ceasing to fight the "war on drugs" that was lost before it even started. I expect drugs would lose a lot of their allure once they were no longer illegal and the drugs gangs on both sides of the border would have to find some other reason to wipe each other out. They would, but without the revenue from illicit drugs they would certainly decline to a large extent. Government interference, especially abolition of something, always turns a problem into a catastrophe. More power to these anti-abolitionist states. the thin end of the wedge! I don't do drugs, btw
