Byron York, you are not right! You compare strategies used by Dems with the content of Romney's campaign. The appeal of Obama was forced on the people with candy, while Romney's content did not get through because of the lack of civic education that half a century of dems' policies brought upon them. The Dems sliced up the market, fed people with entitlements. Romney wanted to explain that is need to revive the American creed. What's that American creed, people asked, we cannot eat that! So they pulled the liver to fill stomachs not brains. Stomach can be filled with greens, the brain needs real fat and real sugar to survive.
