The GOP needs to lay off the "morality police" segment of its platform and focus on the fiscal side. It's fine to have principles but all the principles in the world are useless if you can't get anyone elected. Americans, even those who are fiscally conservative, have moved toward a platform where government stays out of their personal lives. Of course the Democrats make up for that by playing Nanny in as many other areas as they can. They used the weapons of "women's issues" far too effectively, helped along by a few loudmouths with very unpopular and medieval views. Worry about the important stuff like Obysmal giving us all swirlies as we circle the drain rather than what people do in their bedrooms.
