... relevant to the market's needs. Age isn't much of a factor, since companies are paying for my experience and not by health care or other benefits that get more expensive as one ages. The staffing firms handle FICA and tax withholdings and even pay into unemployment, so I can collect between gigs.
This year has seen loads of companies who have never used contract workers suddenly starting to bring them on board. It's great for me, but not so hot for those who prefer captive employment. I wish I could clone myself, since I could literally employ a dozen of me and still have jobs go begging.
