Take home lesson is that it is a lot harder to win over people if it appears you do not like them much,
if all you can do is just say and know and even prove your ideas are better for them than anyone else's. But Bush is partly Hispanic, so he ought to like Hispanics. Romney was not. And he was an outsider in other big ways as well. Which naturally brings us to Rubio. Given how much Mestizos and Indians are under the thumb of the Latinos of mainly Spanish ancestry, it would be interesting to see how Rubio would be different than the typical leaders of Latin America, which American Hispanics left behind.
