There was a thriving business in that day; the slave trade. Not just negroes from Africa, but captured Indians caught by rival Indian tribes and sold to white slavers. Right up until the 1800's. we were quite the racists but prosperous at the time, too. Now we're multi-cultural and politically correct; and going broke.
