Option 2), you go to undergrad school for 4 years, then medical school for 4 years accumulating $300,000 of debt, then do 1 year of surgery internship and 5 years of residency finally getting to go it on your own at age 32. You pay over $50,000/year in malpractice insurance, while working all hours of the day and night including weekends, and the government determines how much you can earn. Now I ask you, which career path do you honestly think most are going to take.
