There will never be a shortage of doctors? Let's pose a hypothetical question: You're an 18 year old kid just out of high school and you are trying to decide between two career paths, 1) to become an assembly line worker at the GM auto plant or 2) to become a neurosurgeon. Option 1), you join the union and immediately start working the line at $57/hour with 100% of your healthcare paid for and 30 days vacation and 10 holidays a year. You work for 35 years and retire at age 53 with a full pension and benefits for life including your spouse.
