Regardless of whether it was simply a case of friends or not....the point of the matter is that it was over official email channels...military email! As all military members should be aware of, everything is subject to being monitored. Also, before any military member is allowed to access their systems when arriving at a new base, they have to go through "training" where they have to become aware of what constitutes offical and acceptable email practices. Profanity is never allowed, nor is unacceptable language. It should be official at all times. If this was on private email, via gmail, hotmail, etc...that's another story...but almost exclusively, those web-based email programs are barred from being accessed while on the military net.
