Sowell's article is well reasoned and sensible. Also, mostly wrong. Sigh. When facts "don't speak for themselves", a degree of sophistication and perspective is needed from the listener when the facts are being explained.
The schools that most minorities attend are not delivering any practice in thinking along those lines---no sophistication, no perspective. Adults who emerge from that school system reading at the 7th grade level, which is the typical result, are not going to stick around to listen to talk about how a high minimum wage undercuts their long term chances.
Demography, coupled to dysfunctional, Democrat-run schools that serve up what passes for an education these days, does add up to destiny.
