What I said was that a permanent solution such as capital punishment should not be applied in such cases, given the number of rape convictions that have been reversed years, and sometimes decades after innocent people have been put behind bars. It is hard enough to apologize to someone who has had a good chunk of their life wasted in prison, but how do you make amends after the person is in the ground.
