Despite all the talk of shifting demographics, the election was largely Romney's to lose. He did so by mostly leaving it to the miniscule-by-camparison-to-their-coumterparts alternative media and outside PACS to delineate the specifics of his message. He largely ran on "Obama's a nice enough guy, but he's in way over his head." Without details coming from his own campaign, it just boils down to "he said-she said", with friends of each side lining up behind their choice. This DOES NOT give the vital middle a reason to change horses in midstream. Acquaintences tend to just wash their hands of the entire fight- and the Dems have been buying more steadfast friends for decades.
