The difficulty with politicians is they know very little about real world problems outside their immediate fear of losing their jobs. Therefore they tend to latch on to solutuions to symptoms, not problems. This leads to failure & unintended circumstances. An example is the "War on Poverty" that has been going on for over 45 years. They also treat all situations as negotiable with no absolutes to interfere with their noble causes. Reality is what happens to other people.
