Absolutely spot on about "bankrupt"     Energy companies lease 80 million acres of land owned by U.S. taxpayers, but keep almost all of the profits.     Mining companies lease our land for $5.00 an acre and are allowed to keep all the gold and silver they can find, without paying us royalties.     The government has given away billions in swathes of our digital spectrum.     Sugar companies are subsidized by an import quota, otherwise our sugar would be sweeter and cheaper.     Farmers get $5 billion a year in direct subsidies. Manufacturers get tax breaks of $20 billion per year or more.       There seems to be a culture of dependency in American businesses and industries. They might have to learn to be more self-reliant.
