A change in the immigration policies of the Republicans may help win Hispanic votes in the future. Rubio was unable to even get the Cuban vote in Florida this year for Romney. Policies matter and mean more than Hispanic candidates. The Republican Party has been painted, quite successfully, as the party against immigration, women, middle class and the poor. We must find a way to address these constituencies that belies the caricature of Republicans that the Dems employ. The Dems have been quite successful in their definition of Repubs and too many of the electorate believe it. It is up to the party to change this perception. We could start by selecting candidates ready for prime time, Akin, Murdoch...
