Some nice ideas, but that won't fix the problem. Living in the deep south, home of many very conservative people, I see the problem a little differently. The truth a good chunk (but not the majority I hope) who vote Republican (but are not necessarily registered Republican) is culture. Many who vote Republican, at least here in the deep south, see non white American conservative culture as threat. Now, before starting with the r word, I am not precisely talkinhg about race, but culture. Many here in the deep south are okay with non-whites, as long as those non-whites are culturally just like them. When you are not open to non-white culture, you won't attract many non-whites. And that is something that goes way beyond policy. That explains.
