Some good ideas, but what's the alternative to #3? Let the Tea Party choose our candidates? The Tea Party has done some real good, but they also gave us Akin, Mourdoch, O'Donnell, Buck, Angle, Miller, and a whole host of disastrous candidates who were completely incapable of connecting with the demographics of their districts.
This doesn't mean I love the "Establishment," but Romney wasn't appointed by the "Establishment" at all--he won debates, raised money, and had a spotless past with a glistening record. It is what it is.
My guy, Herman Cain, didn't do these things, and then he imploded. Am I supposed to whine that the "Establishment" did it? That's just pathetic.
