I appreciate your well thought out comments but I find the assumptions terribly wrong. If the Republican base didn't understand that President Obama is a marxist and is absolutely opposed to everything they hold dear; their lives, their property and their liberty, then it's time to move on without them. When all was said and done, the Republicans (and I am one) made the same mistake they made in '08, the GOP establishment wanted to elect a non-threatening Democrat-lite. What we got was a super nice smart well educated man who would have made a great president but who couldn't light a fire in the soul of the people. Just as alcoholics have to hit a bottom to start recovery (or die), America will have to go broke before we start over.
