When the John Birch society took over the Republican party you lost it all. You no longer scream irrational fear of communists, but it has been replaced with an irrational fear of socialism. You and yours have been screaming that Socialist Europe is on the skids and heading for doom and damnation - for 60 years that i am personally aware of. It may happen some day, but your doom and gloom should have a reasonable time period when you start proclaiming it.
