In lating America, Latinos often vote for extreme left-wing parties - think of the Sandanistas in Nicaragua, Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, a former communist leading Brazil, a leftist husband wife team, the Kirchners, who have turned the middle class of Argentina into a dependent class. Mexico almost voted in Andres Obrador, an extreme leftist, in the last election. Its not likely that the Republicans can persuade a majority of Latinos to vote for them - polls show that Latinos in the US have attitudes that dovetail more with "progressives", even apart from immigration issues.
