I've read a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking about this election, and Jonah, I think your analysis is the most depressing. If you're right, and I think you are, then there isn't much hope of reversing this trend. The married and religious are becoming more and more "uncool" and we live in such a society that values hipness and coolness above integrity and propriety. We lost the culture war years ago, and as goes culture, goes the will of the people. Conservatives are a shrinking, dying breed, and I'm beginning to think that finding fantastic candidates and developing whizbang marketing plans won't change that.
