I think the concept that is difficult for conservatives to understand is that, generally, blacks, hispanics, jews and others who do not fit the profile - white, Christian and conservative - have no interest in connecting and identifying with the culture and heritage of moral (Christian) America.
Yes, many blacks hold to social conservative values that find common ground with conservatives. There's some cross-over as well with some segments of hispanics and jews, too. But, when it comes to identity, those groups look very suspiciously (not helped by the media and the Dems) on white, conservative and Christian America.
Why? The answer should be obvious. Because that's not what they are.
