Duke Cunningham and Ted Stevens, both republican members of congress, were indicted, tried, and convicted of bribery in accepting home value contributions. Barack Obama did the same in Chicago but as a democratic congressman escaped indictment. It's not just that morals have declined, but further that such moral behavior seems to be judged more forgivingly for democrats. Had it not been, Obama might be occupying the cell next to Tony Rezko who contributed the $625,000 for the vacant lot adjacent to Obama's Chicago residence instead of his residence in the White House.
