Dot, you're being idealistic whereas we're being realistic. Conservatives are inclined to be pro-free market capitalism supporters. It fits in nicely with our beliefs about independence from government and self-reliance. But when taxes shoot sky high and regs out of DC become a burden that suppresses and represses free-market activity, we don't have a lot of options on that one.
Obama is talking about putting different job programs in place, and chances are there will be a lot of affirmative actions policies including in those job opportunities. That could be a genuine opportunity for minorities who genuinely want to get out of poverty. But how many is that, really? How many of them are of the "entitlement" mentality?
