The short answer is, yes, in this case, Silver's projections offered comfort to Democrats, in the case of the 2010 Republican wave in congress, which Silver also called, not so much. But denying math and science for hope is often what liberals are accused of doing, and I know how much you guys hate the idea of that. Please don't get in line with Bill Kristol and D. Morris as being the most consistently wrong guys in media. I suppose there's a living to be made by being wrong in front of a crowd that agrees with you, but for Pete's sake, modify your model occasionally and at least take a sideways glance at the numbers and reality if you can.Meanwhile, sure, Romney lost because he wasn't a real Conservative. Go with that.
