The humor was a bit arch, but a very good column, about as good as one can write about utter madness without going mad. Tufts is a private institution, so it is free to engage in all kinds of folly that should be off-limits to its publicly supported counterparts. Evidently Tufts takes that freedom, at least, very seriously; for it seems to engage in ALL kinds of folly. Somewhere in its ivied halls, earnest academicians are undoubtedly trying to square the circle or design a bottle with the opening in the middle. It's incredible that people still go into debt sending their children to this ridiculous place.
