True The Vote's specific instructions to poll watchers are NOT to interact with voters, poll worker, or anyone other than the poll inspector. Confrontation with voters or others or acting in a disruptive manner is the EASIEST way to wind up with a voter intimidation lawsuit. Anyone who plays hockey knows it's the player who retaliates, and NOT the initiator of the ruckus, who ends up in the penalty box. Poll watchers in Arizona (like me) are placed by the parties with candidates on the ballot. We have our cell phones, and the number of our respective county party hotlines, who will respond with calls to officials as necessary. The last thing we want is to get involved in a fight at a polling place.
