I'm smack in the middle of Hurricane Sandy central in New Jersey, and I didn't see jack of the Red Cross in the aftermath of the storm. I did see businesses small and large stepping up to the plate - from the small pizza shop across the street to corporations like Target (providing free charging stations for devices and WiFi so we could reach the outside world, Ulta (who handed out cases of free water), and Tide (Loads of Hope). And I saw the Salvation Army. But the Red Cross, apparently, was busy making commercials. To hell with them.
