Here's a conversation with a Republican in 2001 concerning George W. Bush giving American airline companies $15 billion dollars. I asked, "Isn't that socialism?" He said, "what do you mean?" I said, "Well, George Bush and the Republican Congress gave several American airline companies billions of dollars each and then they turned around, gave out a stock dividend to shareholders, and then the CEO's and upper management received millions of dollars in bonuses! Wasn't this a redistribution of wealth from american taxpayer's?" The Republican said, "No, it is not a redistribution of wealth. It's an example of small government and free markets, and anyone who complains about it is a socialist!"
