Interestingly, with the National Popular Vote Bill, I see an increased possibility of the nightmare that would be a National recount. you get 2 or 3 states or even 1 with the electoral number of votes of say California that get their electors voting diffrerently form the states popular vote and there is a close race nationally, and their votes could swing the election the other way, I see a huge effort to move for a NATIONAL recount. Want to talk about a nightmare? Who will pay for the giant cluster you-know-what that the recount will turn into? And you know it will. And will the states that had clear wide-margin winners be able to opt-out of the recount? Not if it is to be accurate. This could lead to more headaches than it would solve.
