Homosexual marriage is, in historical terms, pretty much an innovation. Anti-black racism was, in historical terms, also an innovation, since it was invented in the last few centuries to soothe the consciences of whites who (quite properly) felt guilt about having black slaves. Thus, the usual comparison between racism and "homophobia" fails. On the other hand, there is a similarity between racism and support of homoxexual marriage, in that both are concocted rationalizations for self-interested behavior.
