It is inconceivable that the president of the United States, if innocent, would not only take the opportunity to deny it on TV, but probably also sue Mrs. Broaddrick. What was the statement by his lawyer, David Kendall, Clinton refers to? "Any allegation that the president assaulted Mrs. Broaddrick more than 20 years ago is absolutely false." A masterpiece of obfuscation and legalese typical of what is now called a "Clintonism." You can see him and Kendall burning the midnight oil together and coming up with that. "20 years ago" the president was Carter, Mrs. Broaddrick was Mrs. Hickey, and Kendall didn't know Clinton.
