A liberal acquaintance of mine, when I told him the number of people in the US without IDs had to be vanishingly small, said "there are thousands of elderly without ID." If that's the best liberals can do to show the "huge problem" of people without ID, they're in real trouble. When I pointed out that elderly people are in the system, and can get IDs if they need them, that housebound and most other elderly people won't be going to the polls anyway, and that the laws for obtaining absentee ballots generally have provisions for alternate forms of ID, he had nothing else to say. This whole dustup about people not having ID is nothing more than smoke and mirrors.
