A great resource for fixing schools the right way is Edutopia.org. I first learned about this site when my kids' school was selected for filming. Edutopia finds schools around the country that work. High test scores and graduation rates. They then interview students, teachers, administrations, etc to find out what the school is doing to make it so successful. The school my kids were attending was among the poorest in terms of $/student, but has a very high success rate. I recommend that all that are involved in a school system take a look at what works, before throwing more money at a school.
