And the fact that GM's European division (Opel/Vuxhall cars) is deeply in debt with low sales and projected plant closings. The Bochem plant in Germany will close after the current union contracts expire in a few years. Two German GM plants in Russelsheim and Kaiserlautern have cut back work weeks. (Under current union contracts half of the "lost" pay will be made up by the German government.)
And back here in the US, when you put the bill still owed to the taxpayers ($27.2 billion) for the bailout together with what GM owes to its former workers ($24.5 billion), that's $51.7 billion dollars that GM still owes to just US workers and US Taxpayers!
"Osama is dead and GM is alive," really means GM is on life-support!
