Their cognitive dissonance poisons their logic. They hold the idea that government is good and promotes equality and prosperity while at the same time believing government is evil and infringes on freedom. Both cannot be true. And in the noise of that internal battle they resort to violent rhetoric, and sometimes violent actions, in their futility to reconcile the intellectual cacophony within.
