I was in favor of working to make the world a better place when I was much younger. Over a period of 10 years ('62-'72) I got to know a number of 'revolutionary leaders', including Mario Savio and Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn...There was a point at which all of them started advocating using violence to get attention; burning buildings, blowing up buildings, killing innocent people... At some point I started thinking that if these people do get in positions of power then I expect they will increase their use of power to maintain control. So, I grew up and became an Independent. No party affiliation. The GOP is as irrelevant today as are the Democrats or Libertarians.
