First, the IRS has not GONE rogue, they have BEEN rogue for quite some time. Regulations that nullify taxpayer rights as an example (congress granted taxpayers the right to tape audits and questions a few years back, but the IRS issued regulations on the use of tapes and recording devices that make it nearly impossible to record the conversations during audit because of the requirements), numerous regulations that completely alter the meaning of the original code. This is just another example of a rogue agency (that has taken near absolute power) taking more liberties and more power. This should come as no shock.
