Reading your post, I begin to doubt that you know one truly Christian person -- meaning one who lives their faith. There is a great deal to be said that is positive about the values, comfort, hope, and spiritual guidance offered by Christianity. Just because some so-called Christians fall short of the mark does not mean the foundation of faith is faulty or should be torn down. Much that is good in the world (including the ending of slavery) can be attributed to people of Christian faith. Check out a film called "Amazing Grace" about the anti-slavery movement in England led by Wilberforce -- a man of deep and abiding faith. It's an astonishing story.
