I think Obama had a poor showing last night because he has suddenly realized that what he really wants in life is for people to like him and accept him for who he is, not for what he does when he is professionally groomed and telepromptered, hiding his essence. He is a Communist and he is tired of hiding his true identity, his true sense of self, his beliefs as they really are, not benignly and ambiguously packaged for his political safety. He wants people to know that about him and to tolerate, accept, and even approve of it. Let's face it - it is exhausting in all ways to pretend to be something you are not all the time. He is tired of pretending and wants people to give him a break.
