These are the same parents who say "Sweetums, would you put your shoes on, please, because we're going to the store, okay?" No, you don't ASK the child if it's okay, you TELL the child "Put your shoes on, we're going to the store." It's bad when the child understands that "Okay?" means someone's asking permission and the parents don't.
